Here’s A New Approach To Marketing Via Twitter:
Marketing via Twitter a new approach
Small businesses have limited marketing budgets, I understand that, so that means that they have to be very creative with what they can do. I know that times are difficult with the economy etc… so that is even more reason why utilising Twitter as the greatest marketing and lead generation tool ever invented is so important.
Lets cut to the chase you want to sell more of your stuff.. period. Twitter will without question help you to do that, but you have to learn how to approach things and how to utilise Twitter properly. Most small businesses really don’t understand Twitter or get where the ‘real gold mine’ is…. I will write other posts about some of them. In this post, I just want to touch on one of those.
Lets imagine you have just sold something to a customer. Did you ask them if they are on Twitter? If not why not? Lets be clear, Twitter is not just about following people, its way way more than that. Its about being able to find things about your customers, clients, that are invaluable and will help you to create your greatest brand advocates of all time, people that will champion your business, talk about it and be a lifelong customer.
So, you found out they are on Twitter.. great… Now what? You follow them, perhaps ignore them as you are too busy simply broadcasting all day long to notice or care what any of your customers are talking about? But the gold mine is listening…. I will repeat that… listening.. Listen to what they are saying, what they are passionate about, it could be food, sports, weather, TV shows… The point is that this is what produces an emotional trigger for them.
10 years ago, because they bought something from you, you would know some small peices of information about them. What they bought, and perhaps thats all. Now by following and listening to them on Twitter, you can get tons and tons of information about them. What they like, dislike, what they are hugely passionate about etc… Take me for example.. I am a huge Haribo fan. Its even on my Bio.
How cool would it be if someone that I had bought something from, as a thank you sent me 5 bags of Haribo Tangfastics sweets.. Cost to them approx £5… but the effect to me… would be wow.. that is amazing… I also talk about food a lot, the weather, and so on… the point is that you have learnt things about me that are really important to me, and then with a bit of thought, you can differentiate yourself from so many others. So stop Talking and start listening. Thats why Twitter is so priceless.
