How Often Should a Business Update Twitter and Facebook?

How Often Should a Business Update Twitter and Facebook?:

What happens if your business Facebook page has less than 100 Facebook fans?

Of the 832 consumers we surveyed a massive 66% said they would be less inclined to use a company if they had fewer than 100 fans on their facebook page. Not really a surprising figure considering in one of our previous reports it suggested that over 70% of those that research a company online wouldn’t take an enquiry any further if that company had no social media presence at all.

What do consumers think if you don’t update your Facebook and Twitter page for more than a week?

Social media really is the face of your business these days. A lackluster approach to updating your social image reflects badly on your overall business attitudes. Over 65% of consumers surveyed said if a businesses facebook page and twitter feed was not updated in over a week they would assume they also had a lackluster approach to customer service. A disaster if you are in the service industry as it is one of the major gripes consumers have with businesses. Bad customer service can be a conversion and retention killer.

So how often do business facebook and twitter pages need updating?

52% said everyday 41% said once a week 7% said once a month

A simple update once a week is enough to keep half your potential customers happy. But, to really take advantage of how social media can reach your customers aim to update at least every other day. If you don’t have time to do it yourself use a social media management service.
