The History of Email – Infographics

The History of Email – Infographics:

I don’t know about you, but it feels WAAAAY different to send an Email Marketing Campaign to few hundred people (number of subscribers to DIYB) versus tens of thousands of emails (number of subscribers to Triberr).

Every time I do it -about once a month- I pause, check all the links, then pause again, then check the links, then pause…I get totally OCD about it.

Anyways…I was doing some research, found few nifty Infographics and figured I’d share them with you guys over the next few days, starting with the History of Email infographics.

I really enjoyed that little trip down memory lane.

You Always Remember Your First

Do you remember the very first email you ever sent? I do.

I friend of mine had a file I really wanted to get my hands on. I don’t remember what the document was about, probably something about how to download ripped music files or something…maybe it was a hacking document. I used to be quite a nerd :-)

Anyways…we didn’t have a floppy disk handy (remember those?) so he suggested I set up a Hotmail account so he can attach the file in an email.

We didn’t have email in school (this was mid 90s) but I was very aware of Hotmail and what it was. I just never used it before. So, I set up my very first email address on Hotmail. I signed off, my friend hopped on his account and he emailed me the file. I went home (next door) to download the file to my computer.

My very first email was a thank you note to my neighbor for hooking me up with the file I needed.

Do you remember the very first email you ever sent?
