metamophosisYou have a business website because you want to transform internet visitors into leads, and ultimately customers. It’s a great idea, but how the heck do you plan on making that happen?
There are many actions you can take to help make it easier than ever for your visitors to buy things, request quotes, sign up for mailing list, or whatever you want them to do. To start bolstering your business via the web, start with these three easy things to get more leads and customers from your business website.  These tips will help you get more response from your website visitors.
1. Clear away the clutter.
cluttered websiteIf you want visitors to do something, you have to make it clear what you want them to do… and easy to do so. If you want to know, for example, how to get more customers buying on your website, you should look at how you can make all of your pages less cluttered and more focused on whatever it is that makes you money.
Too much information can be distracting, and you don’t want your visitors to be so distracted that they forget to become your customers! You need to emphasize what you want customers to see or do, and you may need to get rid of the rest! Make your site organized, streamlined, easy to navigate and focused.
2. Link up!
link upYou want important links on each and every page on your site. If visitors can’t find what they’re looking for, they’ll most likely get frustrated and navigate to a competitor’s page. If you want more clients from your website, you need to make it easy for them to get back to your home page, FAQ, about us page, your services or products page, and whatever other pages are important to visitor, especially initially.
Not only will visitors like these links, but search engines will too! These links should offer a bit of an SEO boost, leading to even more potential customers finding your page.  Google likes interlinking pages on your site.
Just be sure not to get carried away with too many links, however.  That can be distracting. Keep the links relevant.
One final warning–  As a general rule, be sure your links keep visitors on your site; outside links invite them to leave without giving you their business.  Unless your business model for your website is to attract visitors so you can advertising to them, DON’T allow ads to be on your site.
3. Ask your customers what they think.

These folks already give you their business, so if they think your site stinks, you don’t risk losing them. Ask your repeat customers for honest feedback; they’ll tell you what you’re doing right and where you are falling short.
As an alternative, you can use a fee based service like UserTesting.com.  You can pay volunteers to go over your site and offer you feedback on what it is like to navigate the site.
