New Study Shows Mobile Site Use on the Rise:

Here are a few statistics from the study, conducted from a pool of 5,000 U.S. smartphone users:
- The top-five retail mobile apps and sites reached nearly 60 percent of smartphone users during the 2011 holiday season (Amazon, Best Buy, eBay, Target, and Walmart)
- 28 percent of those surveyed accessed the top-five retailers’ mobile apps during the 2011 holiday season (Amazon, Best Buy, eBay, Target, and Walmart)
- The preference for mobile sites over mobile apps is almost the same among men and women
- Best Buy was slightly more popular among men while Target and Walmart were slightly more popular among women
